Privacy Policy

PLACES2GO SRL is committed to protecting, as much as possible, your right to privacy and your online identity. Our goal is to provide you, as a user of our website, with a safe online experience that does not negatively impact your personal life. To this end, we make every effort to ensure that the information you provide in our database is used exclusively for the purposes intended by you.

Personal Data We Process

By accessing our website or by engaging with our promotional or advertising messages, PLACES2GO SRL may process personal information that can identify you as an individual. The personal data we process may include:

A. Personal data provided by you

When you order a service from our website or through other contact channels (phone, email, chat, Facebook, or any other social network), we will ask you to provide personal information including your full name, phone number, email address, and billing details. Depending on the services you choose, if they include an airline ticket, we will also collect details such as: ticket number, booking number, ticket price, reservation code, flight number, departure/return dates and locations, destination, and any other details related to your flight service. If your selected services include hotel accommodation, travel packages, car rentals, transfers, destination tickets, or any other travel-related services, we will store: reservation number, voucher number, booking price, hotel name, hotel star rating, destination, or any other information relevant to your accommodation or travel package. If your chosen services include a travel insurance policy, we will also retain all insurance-related details such as: destination, coverage period, insurance price, and the insured personal information. When you subscribe to the PLACES2GO Newsletter, we will ask you to provide your email address. When you contact us using the forms on our website, we will request your contact details: full name, email address, and phone number.

B. Personal data collected automatically

When you visit our website, www.places2go.ro, we automatically collect certain information, including but not limited to your IP address, cookie data, date and time of access, hardware, software, or browser used, and operating system details such as language settings and the location from which you access our services. When you purchase a service or subscribe to our Newsletter, we also collect information regarding your search and purchase history and your activity on our website, including clicks and pages viewed.

C. Personal data you provide about other individuals

When purchasing a service on our website or through other channels (phone, email, chat, in person at our office, Facebook, WhatsApp, or other social networks), you may be traveling with other individuals whose details you provide as part of the booking process, or you may purchase a service on behalf of someone else. In such cases, it is your responsibility to ensure that the person whose personal data you have provided is informed about this and has understood and accepted how their information will be used, as described in this Privacy Policy.

Collection and Use of Personal Data by PLACES2GO

PLACES2GO uses your stored personal information — the details provided during registration and your activity on our website — primarily to make your access easier, to improve our products and services, and to keep you informed about the latest offers and services that may be of interest to you.

We may use your personal data solely for the following Authorized Purposes:

A. Providing Our Services

First and foremost, we use your personal data to deliver the travel services you have ordered from us.

B. Communication with You

We use your personal data to contact you regarding the services you have purchased from us. Communication may take place via email, post, phone, or text messages, depending on the contact information you have provided and your preferred method of communication.

Reasons for which we may contact you include:

  • Managing the travel services you have purchased;
  • Confirming your travel details;
  • Offering free travel consultancy regarding your booking — for example, how to reach your hotel from the airport, what to visit at your destination, or which areas are recommended for accommodation;
  • Responding to or managing any inquiries or requests from you;
  • Sending you surveys or invitations to review your experience with us after purchasing our services;
  • Sending you administrative or informational materials related to your booking, such as security alerts, assistance contact information while abroad, or other useful travel planning details;
  • Requesting feedback or reviews about your experience with our partners or hotels;
  • Sending you information related to upcoming reservations or a summary of your previous bookings through www.places2go.ro;
  • Using your review feedback to improve our services and to help other customers choose the best travel experiences.

C. Customer Service

You can contact our customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Your personal data, such as information about the services you have purchased or details from your user account, are used to identify the best solutions for your requests and to respond to any questions you may have about your purchased services or any other inquiries.

When you contact us (by phone, email, chat, in person at our office, Facebook, or any other social network such as WhatsApp), our PLACES2GO agents will ask for certain details to properly identify you. We may request specific information about your booking to verify your identity; if sufficient details are not provided, we may be unable to resolve your request.

D. Marketing Activities

We use the personal data you provide for marketing activities, which may include:

  • Using your email address to send newsletters regarding our products and services. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link found at the bottom of each email;
  • Including personalized offers in our newsletters based on your previous searches and purchases, helping you find the most relevant deals;
  • If you participate in any promotional campaigns organized by us, we may use relevant personal data to manage those campaigns effectively;
  • Occasionally, we may invite you to participate in market research. When invited, you will receive full information on what personal data is collected and how it will be used further.

You must be at least 16 years old to subscribe to our marketing communications by email.

E. Improving the Quality of Our Services

We constantly strive to improve our services. To that end, we may use personal data for analytical purposes — to optimize and personalize our online platform according to your needs, make our website easier to use, enhance your overall experience, and improve our customer support services.

F. Call Monitoring

When you use our customer service phone lines to contact us or when we call you, your call may be recorded for the following reasons:

  • To improve the quality and performance of our support team;
  • To manage complaints and ensure proper follow-up;
  • For staff training and quality control purposes;
  • To detect potential fraud or security threats.

During live conversations with our customer service team, there may be real-time monitoring or recorded calls used strictly for training, quality control, or dispute resolution purposes.

G. Legal Purposes

We may use your data to comply with our legal obligations (such as record-keeping requirements), for compliance verification, or registration duties (e.g., under antitrust, export control, trade sanctions, anti–money laundering, or financial monitoring laws), and to detect or prevent fraud or criminal activity.

Additionally, your data may be used when necessary to comply with court orders or to pursue or defend our legal rights.

H. Security of Our Premises

We use video surveillance systems to ensure the safety of our premises, personnel, and property. CCTV monitoring may cover interior and exterior areas of our offices where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, for safety and security purposes only.

Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data

As you have the right to know the purpose of your personal data processing, we will inform you prior to processing your data for any purpose other than those for which it was initially collected.

Execution of Contracts with Our Clients

Based on the contract or the terms and conditions accepted by you as a PLACES2GO client, we will process the personal data you have provided, as well as any other data necessary for us to deliver our services in accordance with contractual and legal provisions in Romania.

The execution of the contract concluded with you represents the legal basis for processing your personal data for the following purposes: providing our services, communicating with you, and performing customer service–related activities.

Legitimate Interests

We may use your information for legitimate interests, such as providing our services in cases where the service is purchased by someone other than the beneficiary.

We may also process your information for our legitimate interests in order to offer the most relevant and suitable website, content, emails, and newsletters, to improve and promote our products and services, and to ensure the administrative and legal protection of our company — including customer call monitoring and physical site security.

Your Consent

We use your personal data based on your explicit consent when you subscribe to our newsletter or agree to receive marketing communications about our products and services. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email or by sending an email with the subject “Unsubscribe” to rezervari@places2go.ro.

Legal Obligations

We may process certain personal data in the context of providing services based on legal obligations (for example, for accounting, reporting, or anti–money laundering purposes) or other legal requirements applicable to www.places2go.ro.

Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Data

As a rule, PLACES2GO does not provide, sell, or rent your personal data to third parties. However, we may share your information with third parties when necessary for data processing purposes, as described below:

a. Travel Service Providers

The personal data required to provide the travel services you have purchased will be transferred to third-party companies in order for those services to be delivered (e.g., airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, or tour operators).

b. Business Partners

We may collaborate with business partners that offer services available on our website (accommodation, insurance, payment providers, or other travel-related services). When you purchase a service from us, certain personal data necessary to deliver that service — such as your name, email address, home address, or payment details — may be shared with these partners. Shared data is limited strictly to what is required for the performance of the service as defined by our partners.

c. Competent Authorities

We may disclose personal data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or when necessary for the prevention, detection, or prosecution of crimes or fraud. We may also be legally obliged to disclose data to competent authorities to protect our rights or the rights and property of our business partners.

d. Other Situations

In specific cases, when collecting your personal data, we may request your consent to share it with third parties. In such situations, we will inform you beforehand and will not transfer your data without your explicit consent.

Data Processors

For data processing, we may engage authorized data processors such as IT solution providers, accounting software vendors, contractual management systems, or event organizers. We enter into personal data processing agreements with all such processors, ensuring they comply fully with applicable data protection laws and provide adequate safeguards for your information, including data deletion obligations when required.

Data Retention Period

We have implemented both technical and organizational measures to ensure that your personal data is deleted according to clear criteria and reasonable retention periods.

Your personal data will be deleted once it is no longer reasonably necessary for the authorized purposes or when you withdraw your consent (where applicable), provided that no further legal obligations require us to retain the data. However, we may keep certain personal data if it is necessary to defend or exercise our legal rights or those of others, until the end of the relevant retention period or until any related claims are resolved.

Data Security

All personal data is protected against threats through appropriate IT infrastructure and security measures. Additionally, we have implemented internal procedures that enable us to detect, notify, and document any data breaches as quickly as possible.

If we discover a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP). You will also be informed of any such breach if it creates a high risk to your personal rights and freedoms.

Your Rights Regarding Personal Data Processing

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data processing:

  • The right to access your personal data.
  • The right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • The right to restrict processing — available when:
    • You contest the accuracy of the personal data we process;
    • The processing of your data is unlawful;
    • We no longer need your data for processing, but you require it for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
    • You have objected to processing pending verification of whether our legitimate grounds override your rights.

If you have any questions about the processing of your personal data or wish to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at rezervari@places2go.ro.

We will review every request and inform you of the actions taken as soon as possible, within a maximum of one month. If we require additional information from you or encounter delays in resolving your request, we will promptly notify you.

If you believe that we have not fulfilled your request or are dissatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) or take the matter to court.
